Ms. Kaburu has over 10 years of extensive expertise in Research and oversight of NGO project design and development. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Reproductive at Pan African University -University of Ibadan Nigeria (Completed field stage). She also holds a Master of Science in Health System Management (Kenya Methodist University) and a Bachelors of Science in Medical Laboratory science (Kenyatta University). Her technical expertise is in proposal writing, Monitoring and Evaluation, grant management, Strategic planning, project management, Project Research management, Finance management, Risk management, data management, Data analysis, Workplan development, Capacity building & coaching and Business development. While at International Development Institute Africa, Emily supported over 20 NGOs in strategic thinking and development. She believes that data is important for proper decision-making planning and management. She is also keen in ensuring that programs are sustainable and do not end with the project cycle but has the potential to live beyond any particular project. Emily has worked for government institutions, NGOs (both in Kenya and at international level) and the private sector. Her work engagements have not been limited to the Kenyan context alone, but have included travel to countries such as Tanzania (both Mainland and Zanzibar) and Eritrea. Some of the clients with whom she has worked with include the Ministry of Health Kenya, UNFPA, JICA, AFD, EAC Secretariat Health Department, AMREF Health Africa in Kenya, WSUP, USAID Health Policy Plus, SNV, World Vision, PEEK Vision, KEWASNET, APHRC, Agha Khan University, Sight Savers among others.
