Historicity of KERA

February 2023: Formation of the alliance.

June 2023: On-boarding of Regional Facilitating Partners as founding organization partners.

July 2023: Formation and operationalization of alliance's Core Team and Operation Committees.

July - December 2023: Capacity building and team building for the organizations’ representatives and KERA volunteers.

September 2023: Appointment as an official Actor of the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration 2021-2030.

October 2023: Becoming an institutional member of the UN Decade Best Practices Task Force. Nomination as the Country Executing Partner to the UN Decade Food Challenge 8.1.

November 2023: Convening the Inaugural KERA Co-learning and Co-sharing Workshop at the Liason House Nairobi, bringing together 50+ representatives, experts and managers from the government, private sector, and civil society sector institutions.

January 2024: Convening the Eastern Kenya Regional Biofertilizer Training of Trainers Workshop bringing to 50 lead farmers, technical experts, agri-food value chain players and farmer's organizations.

March 2024: Revamping KERA Strategies, Theory of Change and Leadership for locally-led change focusing on villages.

April 2024: Launch of Public Call to craft the KERA's 10-year Action Plan ( 2025-2034).

May 2024: Formalization of KERA as a National NGO incorporated in the Republic of Kenya by the PBO Regulatory Authority.

July 2024: Finalization of public inputs to the KERA Action Plan 2025-2034

July 2024 - December 2024: On-boarding of partners from across sectors for our 10-year commitment to the people of Kenya.



Leadership & Coordination

  • c). Secretariat: Hired and supervised by the Board of Directors. Managing day-to-day operations.

Regional Facilitating Partners: Besides other cooperative and collaborative deliverables set by KERA and the respective Regional Facilitating Partners, some of the joint commitments include conducting a baseline assessment and develop a site strategy for various landscapes within their region.
