Harriet Sanja

Harriet H. Sanja is a dedicated change agent with a focus on food systems, climate & eco-system advocacy, and economic development. As Co-Founder of the Michigan Fellows Africa Initiative (NGO) Kenya Chapter, she drives impactful projects across several countries. She established Halisi Sustainable Farms, aspiring to become a community training center.

She holds qualifications in Procurement and Contract Management from Jomo Kenyatta University and has completed various EIT courses on sustainable urban food systems and tackling food waste.

Her commitment to sustainable agriculture was furthered by an internship at Michigan State University’s Product Center following her selection as a U.S. Department of State professional fellow in agribusiness. Harriet is dedicated to fostering community growth through skill transfer, sustainable farming, and climate advocacy. Harriet is the Country Director of the Michigan Fellows Africa Initiative - Kenya Chapter.
